Is It a Weed?

Polycarpaea corymbosa (L) Lam, is a weed which belongs to Caryophyllaceae family is seen throughout India. It is distributed in tropical Asia and Australia. It is quite common in Gujarat is waste lands and in cultivated fields. It is a small, erect annual herb. Simple or branched woody at base. Stem and branches slender and faintly terete. Pale green in colour and pubescent in younger parts. Leaves linear, Flowers light pink, when fresh, capsules minute oblong-ovoid, 3valved. Seeds compressed, Yellowish –brown, reniform. It generally flowers in October ad its fruits mature at the end of December.
